Corrections to A-196 PLL manual entry

2004-02-21 by Tim Stinchcombe

Hi list,

This is probably academic for those who have no desire to go into
great detail about the finer operating points of PLLs, but I've
noticed that the labelling of the three types of phase comparators in
the manual does not match up to the module.

On page 5, section 4, under 'type', they should be numbered:

PC3 is EXOR
PC1 is RS Flipflop
PC2 is digital network

and the following "E.g. PC1" should be PC3 (i.e. EXOR is known to
lock onto harmonics).
The same renumbering should be made on page 2 in 'Basics', near the
bottom of the first column.
However note that references throughout to the LED and PC2 are
correct.

And for those who look a little deeper, the correspondence between
the 'type' on the module and the usual labelling for the underlying
device is:

A-196 Phase comp
type in device
1 III
2 II
3 I
