Hi Tony, Mostly I was just being snarky there, but I know over on Muffwiggler there have been many complaints about fried ASys modules in Doepfer racks, a complaint which I've not seen applied as often to any other manufacturer. Also, there's the caveat that using ASys modules with any other manufacturers' cases/power supplies voids the warranty. I also don't like that the RS35 can not be used to input external audio for the purpose of further audio processing (no audio output); that it can ONLY be converted to CV. Seems like an easy bit of additional flexibility. However, I don't know of any other Eurorack Pitch-CV converters; how does the tracking on the RS35? Really do not want to use the ASys RS-35, as any module with the likelihood of exploding my lovely Doepfer system is not welcome in my A-100P6. > > As it is still in the planning stage I would also like to suggest that it could perhaps have the option to use it simply as a external input pre-amp, without the conversion (maybe a second, 'dry audio' output?), and integrate slew and envelope follower as well. > > Regarding the artifacts which may occur during the "attack" and "release" states: from my experience using the Pigtronix Mothership guitar synth as well as other guitar synths, there are *always* artifacts during these states when using a guitar, though these are lessened when using compression. However, a compressor also squares off the envelope greatly, which makes it less like a guitar envelope. But my suggestion is that a Pitch-CV converter will likely always be imprecise, and that's OK by me. > > Cheers, thanks for the great work. > > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] >
