Aardenburg submission
2010-01-22 by Paul
Just to let the group know that I sent Mark at Aardenburg Imaging some test prints (template available at his website) using an R1800, Eboni ink (Paul's 3MK setup), and Premier Art FineArt Hot Press 205 paper. I submitted these in early December but Mark likes them to "settle" a bit before he begins the test. He'll do that late this month or early next month, with first results expected mid-April. I had to call Mark on the phone with a technical issue re: my submission and he was very generous with his time. I think he's performing a valuable service for all of us, and I encourage (nag!) everyone concerned about archival matters to support him with a membership fee. Once you are a member, he encourages you to send in some tests with your particular printing setup. For example, I'd be curious to see results from the 1400 and Paul's Eboni-6 and Ut-14 inksets. Here's a link to Mark's website: http://www.aardenburg-imaging.com/index.html If you click on the "test results" tab, you'll find a rather impressive list of various printer/ink/paper combinations... perhaps your particular workflow is already there, but if not, I'd encourage you to sign up and send in some prints. Apparently Mark and Paul are in contact, which strikes me as a very good thing. These are exciting times. (Maybe Paul has submitted some prints already?) This is not a paid political announcement! Regards, Paul
