BW Inkset for Epson 2100 - which one?
2007-01-03 by Bernie Ess
Hello, after a while where I have mainly sent my prints to a printshop I would like to reactivate my 2100 that I now use with UC original inks. I will continue to make my color prints at the print shop, but I dont like the look of their papers for b&w, so I would like to do them on my own. After quite a few issues with my old CFS (UT7 inks) I would consider refill carts. I do not print very much - only a moderate amount of printing. Question is: What current inkset gives the best overall performance on a wide choice of papers, mostly fineart sometimes maybe luster and glossy papers? I consider UT-3d, or another MIS inkset, but which one? The prints I currently do with the original Epson inks with Bowhaus OPM or Harrington QTR are neutral, but I dont like the dmax - deep blacks seem almost impossible to achieve on matte papers... I would be glad about any useful input, thanks in advance, Bernhard
