K4 Ink and Epson 2400

K4 Ink and Epson 2400

2006-07-19 by skippy13312000

I've been trolling around on the group a little for the first time
today and I've seen a lot of mention of the MIS inks. I'm curious
about people's experience with the K4 inks with an Epson 2400 and how
you guys feel about them compared to the actual K3 inks from Epson.

Also how well do the spongeless carts work? If anyone knows.

Thanks.

Brian

I'm using K4 in my 2400 and can tell no difference from the K3, except
when it comes time to pay for them. I'm a fan of the spongeless carts.
They almost always worked well for me although others have had a few
glitches.

If you want 100% hassle free, no matter the costs, Epson K3 is the ink
for you. If you want the same results and don't mind refilling carts
to save some money MIS K4 is what you want.

I completely agree with Bob. I did have to make new profiles for color
prints for my R2400 but I expected that. I had no problem refilling
the spongeless carts and I am woefully inept at that sort of thing. I
am a very happy camper with this setup. In the past I had a CIS (on an
1160), and am delighted with the ability to refill now that the
process is so simple.

I can't speak for spongeless carts, but I've been using the MIS Pro
inkset with sponge-filled carts in my 2200 for around five months now
and have experienced no problems -- and I have refilled the same black
and gray carts at least 4 times.

Question: can I replace my K3 carts with K4 as they get empty or do I
have to buy a whole fresh set?
