Help: R800 printing grainy

Help: R800 printing grainy

2006-04-22 by timeexposure

Hello,

My R220 performs well with UT-R2, so I gave a try to MIS color inks
in my R800 for color. That's not the place for color here, but lots
og people know well that kind of printer/carts.

I guess something went wrong during priming because two colors are
grainy (it shows small white dots in a plain color pattern).

I've reprimed the carts tree times, made head cleanings in series of
3 with MIS tests pattern prints inbetween (3 series of carts
emptied...).

The Epson nozzle check is PERFECT !!!! And alignment also !!! That's
crazy...

No real clue from MIS support... 150$ inks/carts/chips + one printer
almost dead. Their last advise is to try a cleaning cart (I already
tried windex on the parking sponge).

Your thoughts ?

Francois

BTW: the new MIS carts have a real sealing pb, two colors (not the
grainy ones) ran empty prematurely due to leaking into the printer...
I had to seal the rubber plug with hot glue.

Innova FibaGloss wins TIPA award for best independent inkjet paper

You may need to cut and paste the link into your browser.

I hope my old friends on the list won't mind this small plug. I promise
I won't do it again. :)

Squid Technology is the only UK stockist of the full Innova range. A
big fresh batch of FibaGloss has just arrived in our office. And, for
our friends in Europe, we ship all over Europe for a modest shipping charge.

I buy Innova papers (and others) from Jim Doyle at Shades of Paper.
Jim's service and pricing are impeccable.

Innova FibaGloss the same as Da Vinci?

2006-04-22 by joaskild

Certainly that's my understanding. Apart from the white point, I'd say it
falls well behind the Silver Rag product. Has anyone had the chance to put
the Hahnemuhle product through its paces?

What am I Missing? Epson's Court Actions

2006-04-22 by Frank Vincent

I have not followed the previous thread closely. However, today I received
my settlement papers in the mail. As I read it, Epson is being sued for
putting chips in ink cartridges that indicate too early that their ink is
used up, yet they are considering action against other cartridge
manufacturers?

Two entirely different issues and neither fully resolved.

Do the Innova FibaGloss have the same whrite paper coler as Da Vinci? (I prefere a more
yellow paper bace like the Silver Rag)? The Paper I ordered of Da Vince is somehow diffent
than the beta sampels I got first. The finaly one seems just a bit mor uneven and more kind
of plastic shenny glossy. I like very much the Silver Rag but I still have only tryed the beta
paper so I hope the finaly one are as beutifull yellow bace as the beta paper I got (my oder
seems to be delayed until may).

Do anybady know of a fiber paper with the same yellow bace as the Silver rag? (becides the
Hanemulle satin wich it too much structure for me)
