Contrary to the hype and recommendations on this list, don't bother
getting an Mac/Intel based dual core processor G5 if you want to run CS
or CS2. Because these are non-Apple applications that have not been
specifically written for this technology, they actually run slower than
the older G5! Aperture should be OK but PS is reported to run at half
the speed with the newer chips. Maybe this will be overcome with CS3?

Photoshop CS2 and all previous versions are PPC binaries and run in
emulation on the Intel Macs. Until Adobe updates them to be Universal
Binaries (PPC and INtel native) they will perform poorly on the Intel
systems.

Adobe has already announced that they will not have native Mac apps to
run on the Intel chips until they release CS3 sometime early next year.
That is one reason I am holding off on purchasing a new Mac. There are
usually issues with the first generation of new computers like this, I
am waiting until later this year.
