Steve,
It sounds like the rear loading of the 4800 is the same as the
4000....lousy. I don't use it at all anymore. If I must manually
load, I load from the front of the machine. Or, put paper in the paper
tray, and hit the up arrow to force loading of the sheet before
printing. You can also try using the controls on the front printer
panel and diabling the paper align feature, which is very picky
indeed. This may help a little.
