need help with qtr, get banding accross all printed images

2005-03-20 by mehrdad

hi all, i am using a 1280 with the u2 inkset and i can print fine
either directly printing to the printer or applying curves and then
printing, it all looks fine. when i print using qtr, i get banding
across the entire image. the effect looks like to be 4mm in width and
a different shade of what i am printing.

i am using a 1280 with u2 inkset and the yellow position loaded with
glop. and printing using the following curves in
ut2-EpermLuster-netral-3 @ 100.

resolution: 1440: super
speed faster
dither algorithm: ordered

This sounds so familiar. I had a similar problem in an earlier version
of QTR on Windows XP, but no such problem in the latest 2.2a version.
I didn't try to find a solution as I didn't need QTR at the time.

I'm not sure what the problem is though. You might want to do a
complete uninstall and reinstall of QTR, especially rename your old
QuadtoneRIP directory before reinstall.

Reduce your output speed in regard to increasing the resolution setting. My
QTR output is flawless but you can't print fast, now way. It is very slow. I have
a friend who experienced this same situation with Studio Print at faster
speeds. It just didn't work.
