my name is John Berry. I have been doing fine art photography for
30+ yrs. from 35mm to 8x10 view.I am now archiving my B&W negs. I
also have a figi s-2 pro, I already had the nikon glass. The f-5 has
been gathering more dust than I would have ever imagined. I have
done the required inbreeding of the monitor, scanner, and printer. I
use an epson 2200 for the printing. I just downloaded QTR and I am
going to give it a try. I've been reading past post and it is well
worth the trip. I don't look at a digital print as trying to make it
look like a silver print. I have a darkroom for that.(you know, for
that stuff called film, back in the olden days) I see it as it's own
medium and has it's own personality. Not better or worse just
different. I am also experimenting with making digital negatives for
contacting onto Azo paper in my darkroom.I noticed a few post about
the zone system. I still use it today. One post that was asking
about dodging and burning. I havent used those since I found the
history brush. I attended a high resolution digital photography
seminar by Jeff Schewe, do a search on him. Most of the seminar is
available as tutorials in pdf format. I can't stress how much I
recomend his site. Great group, and as Arnold says "I'll be back"
