Getting neutral with color ink on a 1160 !!!

So we come and go,come and go... Bought a new 1160 to dedicate to BW. Still playing around with it's color inks, until new FS inks come out,so I decided to test a Selenium tone quadtone curve (the ones you apply in duotones) I got somewhere a while ago...So you go from color to grayscale, then to duotone, apply the quad and go back to color. I printed the image in EAM and...bingo! Neutral,no metamerism under sunlight or fluorescent. So I printed the same image with MIS-FS in a 980 on the same EAM,and put them side by side. You just can´t tell them apart. Shadows,midtones...maybe FS was a little smoother in the highlights, but very little, you really need to be looking from an inch away to see it. For the sake of fairness, when I tried it on Ilford Smooth Pearl,my favorite,it has a lot o metamerism, toward a horrible green. But on EAM,that´s it.Beautiful. No idea how it will work with other printer/inks/paper combos, but if someone would like to give it a try, email me and I'll send the .ado file. And please share results. I got curious about it. For those who are about matte papers only, looks serious. André Vallejo http://andrevallejo.net [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
