matting quadtones

looking for a good cheap source for pre-cut 16x20" 8-ply museum mats
in the US. Also, how are people hanging their quadtones in a mat?
Hanging some stuff in a gallery and all the local shops are stupidly
expensive...

thanks,

Good questions! Along those same lines, I'd be curious to hear hear if/how
people are dry-mounting their digital prints. I've got an old 20x24 Seal
dry mount press from my silver-printing days that I'm hoping will work
with the new media. My old method was to dry-mount, then cut a window mat
about 1/2" from the print border all around, with a little more space at
the bottom for a penciled signature. The glass is then kept off the print.
Any opinions on the appropriateness of that method would be appreciated!

Dry mounting works fine. I use colormount at 200 deg. If you are
using a textured paper, it works best to use a sheet of the same
paper for a cover sheet.

From my experiences, the dry mount works just fine with digital prints

Mark,

the 8-ply

8 ply is pretty extravagant -never had the nerve to pay the $$$. I have
both dry-mounted, used tape, or corners. It depends on the rebate around
the image.
Don't really need dry mount because the paper stays very flat.
