Epson v Canon

Epson v Canon

2003-03-01 by Jerry in Houston

If it is true, as it apparently is, that Canon
printers are set to become serious players in the fine
art b/w market, it should be good news for the Epson
users as there is nothing that will advance the breed
like competition. Epson has had it pretty much their
own way for a long time now, but with some serious
competition we should see some of the improvements
that many here have been asking for. Competition
ultimately benefits the consumer.

Epson wasnt treatened in its market niche. So maybe that Canon has
entered that niche, maybe (wishfull thinking here) we will finally
that new printer a lot of people are waiting for: the replacement of
the Epson 3000!

Thanks for the offers

I guess I left the wrong impression while telling all of you about the 2200
ink availability. I know what it is like get stumped by a shortage. It was
D1 batteries for a while this summer.

I can get a 2200 through several sources. HOWEVER, with one or two Nikon
lens upgrades, and selling my D1 so I can get a second D1H, I can't get a
2200. If you can't shoot it, you can't print it.

But thanks to ALL for the public and private e-mails on where to get one.

Best regards,

Seth
