I thought that someone would mention this option, but I guess not.  If you 
are using PS, it has a contact sheet function.  Just scan your images or 
whatever as you normally would, then go to File/Automate/Contact Sheet II, 
and PS will print a contact sheet or set of contact sheets for whatever 
images you have chosen and you can choose how many on a page and how large.  
Other software may do this, but I am only familiar with PS 5.5, 6.0 and 7.0 
at least.  I think it works very well.
