deal of the century on Polariod SS4000's

deal of the century on Polariod SS4000's

This is apparently a genuine price. The SS4000 is being replaced with a
14-bit USB/Firewire model later this year but even so this is an insane deal
if they have any left.

Ecost.com lists them for $441.07 (after rebate) plus a $16 "handling"
charge. Ground shipping is "free". The unit is out of stock right now. I
ordered over the phone to find out when they expected a new shipment and a
salesperson named Steve (ext. 5454) told me that they expected 15+ units on
Sept.15. I was 5th on the waiting list at noon yesterday. Hurry!

Thanks Johnny!

Just ordered mine - it's the real price. Got the extended warranty -
starts at the time of purchase - for 70 something bucks for three
years - covers parts and labor. Just in case Polariod goes under!

Bruce Fraser just rated this scanner better than the newer Nikon
in Macworld.

Best,

John V.

John, do you have any idea how can their list price be US$641.07 when the
CDN list is $2199.00??? Or am I looking at two different models?

Have you dealt with them?

Thanks,
Carolyn

Ecost now list the SS4000 at $729.00 with a mail in rebate of $200.00
(Rebate offer good in U.S.A. only) with the new Polaroid Sprintscan
4000 Plus going for $1448.55

So the old SS4000 is still quite a deal.
