mixing base for C6b

mixing base for C6b

2019-08-18 by paulmwhiting@...

The document (Mixing Carbon-based B&W Inksets - Carbon 6) has instructions for mixing the base fluid for the C6b inkset, and the recipe is in grams, by weight. A footnote shows the recipe in volume, in ounces. However this second version results in over a quart and a half. How can I reduce that recipe? Is it a matter of simply halving the components in the second recipe? Somehow I don't think so.

Thanks all!

Proportions are all that matter.

I get it, thanks, Paul. Actually, I just ran across a small cutout, about a 1/3 of a full page, from what must have been a longer document. The top line starts off: "For 500 ml of C6b, mixed by volume, I use a 16 oz (1 pint) ...etc, etc.... "

Just the quantity I want! Then each component of the recipe is listed by percentage and it all came back to me. It's been a while since I mixed this base and I'd misplaced that smaller amount recipe. Did you write that?

Best regards,

Paul W.

Does anyone recognize that opening line? I'd like to have the complete document in my files.

Thanks all!

My face is red... turns out I have a print-out of an earlier edition of that document mentioned in my OP. It is dated 8-10-2010a. (Not sure about the "a", I have that penciled in.) Anyway this edition includes the recipe for mixing a base fluid for a smaller quantity of C6b, 500ml.

Sorry, folks!
