Print matte and glossy with eb6

Print matte and glossy with eb6

Hi,

I will get an epson w1500 (1430 in US) I guess n the next days. I'm going to use it with

carbonprint museum. This is a 100% carbon ink in 6 shades from farbenwerk.com in Germany.

I think it's technically about the same as eboni6. It is promoted just for matte printing, but I think

I read somewhere that I can print with qtr on glossy papers as well without using the mk ink with

a special profile. Is that possible? Or can I maybe just put in a photoblack to print on glossy paper

(occasionally) and keep the other 5 channels as they are. I would apreciate your advice here.

Marcus,

I am new to this forum and a newbie with QTR.

I am currently testing QTR for my own usage and it is possible to create a curve for printing with the black only (BO) ink. I have created one for the regular Epson matte ink (MK) with my Epson R3000 and I assume using the photo black PK will be similar. Paul Roark on his website http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/ provides a few black only (BO) qtr curves for another Epson printer but it can serve as an exemple.

Being based in Europe I am interested in your attempt to use the carbon inks from farbenwerk.com. Can you please share your experience?

Hi,
I'm using the Carbonprint Museum Set since it came out and I really like it.
With the Epson w1500 I can create stunning matte prints. You can download
ICC Profiles for a lot of papers. They also have very good and cheap under their own
farbenwerk lable. I think it is about the same as the eboni6 set. I wanted to convert my older
A4 printer for glossy black & white. I put claria (black only with qtr) back in it. maybe I try the
alternativ aproaches that Paul Roark explains on hos page with claria in the future. Sounds interesting.
