Glossy Carbon Variable Tone inkset -- 7800 version
2016-06-25 by roark.paul@...
I have updated this PDF at
http://www.paulroark.com/BW-Info/7800-Glossy-Carbon-Variable-Tone-2016.pdf .
The interesting finding yesterday was that printing on Arches watercolor paper (uncoated) is essentially the same as with the Eboni v. 1.1. In particular, the glossy carbon does NOT print warmer. As such, a 100% carbon print on Arches can be made with a maximum increase in Lab B over the paper white of only 3 units. That means to me that this inkset is as capable as Eboni-6 of making carbon prints that are, paper life included, more archival than any reasonably available printing option we have. These types of full sheet (22x30") Arches prints, in actual display on the wall, simply look like excellent B&W prints with no obvious color to them. They are what I compare everything else to.
The profiles for Arches have been posted in the usual Zip file (link in PDF).
It will be a while before I can get to more papers and canvas. I expect inkjet papers to print warmer, thus requiring more color pigment to cool them.
