Complete Newbie question: Canon iP8720 settings

2016-02-11 by mfhiatt@...

Hi,

I am a complete newbie when it comes to printing, having just gotten a Canon iP8720 last week.

I'm having what is probably the same problem that all newbies have - trying to get a neutral tone setup.

I'm trying to print out of Photoshop CS6 (mac). When I let Photoshop manage colors, I get a bluesih tone. When I let the printer manage, I get more of a sepia tone. Even with the printer in control, as I've tweaked settings, I'm not seeing any difference.

Just wondering if someone can point me to some info to get up to speed and to try and lock into some settings that will work.

Canon ink, canon paper (matte and lustre so far).

Thanks in advance!

Mike

Hi Mike,

I’m not sure about the smaller Canons, but the iPF series has a Print Plugin that is way better than the regular driver. One of its features is a B&W mode that functions much like Epson’s Advanced Black & White mode. Look to see in there is something like that.
