Can anyone provide a suggestion as to how to clean the roller on the back
manual paper feed of the Epson 2880?

The paper will initially load correctly but then will back out and the error
light comes on. It becomes frustrating to continuously press the reset, try
again, etc., etc. After multiple "tries" the paper will sometimes become
damaged-quite annoying with costly 13x19 sheets which can then only be used
as test sheets.

Matte paper with a surface texture will usually load rather easily. Glossy
paper with a smooth texture is, as might be expected, the issue. One
suspects that there might be lint or other material on the roller. The
roller will not "grab" the paper.

Thanks for any help.

These printers are really fussy.
Hold the paper parallel with the path, so it does not sag in the back.
Sometimes blowing the printer out from the rear, with compressed air might
help.
It is mostly alchemy and black magic. Swearing seems to help a lot.
