Samples of MIS inks and prints?

Samples of MIS inks and prints?

2013-08-07 by Stephen

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if there was a way to get a sample of the MIS carbon inks... at least one, but ideally on a few different papers. Cone has sample cards that are seriously overpriced, but at least I was able to get an idea of what a real life print would like look. Is there something similar with MIS? OR would someone using those inks be willing to let me send them a file or do a print for me?

Thanks!

Stephen

Its not as good as real prints, but I have a number of papers and inks scanned and posted in a public folder on Skydrive, http://sdrv.ms/197H9qB. You are welcome to take a look. If there is anything of particular interest I could do a test print for you in C-6 or UT-14. You may need to send me some paper, if you have a particular type you want to test. I have a good stock of Red River papers.

Have you asked MIS for samples?

Failing that, I recommend buying an 8x10 print from an expert printmaker on this forum like Paul Roark, specifying the ink-set you're interested in trying yourself. His work is excellent, inspirational, and reasonably priced.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
