Need help with Photoshop CS3

2012-11-24 by rfsteckmeyer

I'm trying to learn how to print B&W on an Epson 1430 using the E6 ink set. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate and CS3. I believe I successfully made an icc profile using the excellent write up from Mr. Rorark and the QTR Eye-One program. Once I had the profile I on my desktop I renamed it QTR_1400_E6_EAM_NCC_2.2. I moved this to windows\system32\spool\drivers\color. I can find it in this directory as QTR 1400 E6 EAM NCC 2.2.

Now the problem is when I try to find this file in the Photoshop menu (File-Print-Printer profile) it is not shown. Many other files in the directory stated above also are not found but some that are not in the directory are found. Is there a switch or something I need in Photoshop to see these files.

Thanks for your help

There is an internal name on ICCs that is used by Photoshop. It should be
the original name used when you made the ICC with QTR added to the front.

Also, your CS3 may not refresh its list if the ICC was added after CS3 was
opened. You can refresh the list by, for example, going to Edit>Color
Settings (I think).

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
