Michael,
Curves and profiles would probably not, by themselves, cause banding. The
curves, which are provided primarily so that people can make their own
custom ICCs using QTR's Create ICC-RGB, do often use a disproportionate
amount of yellow-position (2% Eboni) Eb6-Y. If that channel was having
problems, those curves and the ICCs based on them probably would show that
problem more than the simple Epson driver and Color Control, gamma 2.2
printing.
So, my guess is that you are having problems with one or more of the
channels. Be sure the nozzle check is perfect. With Eboni-6, a clog in
one of the dilute inks is unlikely. If there is a gap it is probably an
air bubble in the outlet of the cartridge. If the inks were just loaded,
sometimes letting it sit overnight is the best fix.
Good luck with the system.
