Re: [Digital BW] Dedicated B&W printer - Epson 1400 or 2200

2010-01-10 by Richard Sintchak

Hi Jorge,

I'm in the same boat as you. Been using a 2200 for years printing BO with
either MIS Eboni Black or Epson Matte. Used to be more active on this list,
but been more of a lurker for the last 2-3 years.

After chatting with Clayton, emailing with Paul, and reading a number of
threads here I ordered from Atlex an Epson 1400 and some Alise Museum
Natural about a week ago. Paper has arrived but the printer was slightly
back-ordered (It's expected to arrive on Monday or Tuesday). I decided to
go with the Eboni-6 cart set finally finding the link to buy such with
Paul's help. Seems it's a "special order" item and that will not ship until
next week per the people at MIS. I thought to go the UT-14 route but I've
used curves with QTR in the past and mostly want my B&W prints to have the
best archival nature I can get. Plus I like slightly warm prints which
bodes well for me with Eboni-6.

Won't be printing until the new printer and the carts arrive next week but
have been trying the Alise Natural on my 2200 with BO printing using Epson
Photo Matte ink it's a beautiful paper.
