Jorge..

I cannot speak to the 2200, but I do have 2 -1400's, one of which is set up with MIS UT-14 pigment based B&W inks and has been is service for me almost a year with NO PROBLEMS, and GREAT results IMHO..The 1400 is a 1.5 picoliter printer utilizing very tiny droplets to give you a clean/dot free end result...Refillable carts are available , and are very user friendly..
plenty of support available on this forum, and on the "QTR forum..

Good luck with your decision..

Eddie

Subject: [Digital BW] Dedicated B&W printer - Epson 1400 or 2200

  Folks,
Soon, I need to make a decision of which printer will became my B&W printer.

I own an Epson Stylus Photo 2200 for more than a couple years, which has very little use. A couple days ago I placed an order on a new Epson Stylus Photo 1400, since the price was right, $189.

Now, I need your advice. Shall I make the 2200 my dedicated B&W printer, or shall I convert the new 1400? What will be the pros and cons of converting either one to be a B&W printer?

  Your input is greatly appreciated.

  Jorge
