I agree with you, that www.dpreview.com has the absolute *best* 
forum style on the web. I like being able to instantly see the 
original post, and all the corresponding replies in one place. 
Without having to go searching through all of the archives to see 
all posts.

Just as an FYI, there is a widely used dicussion technology called 
Discus. Here is the link:

Good functionality, but it comes down to the logistics of moving the 
historical posts to any new format.
