Digital BW, The Print

Hello.  I'm trying to print on Museo Silver Rag (semi-gloss) with the 
UT-14 inkset in an Epson 1400.  I'm obviously not doing something 
correctly as I keep getting prints that have obviously used the black 
(eboni ink) cartridge- there is a definite bronzing.  I've read it is 
possible to print on glossy papers with this inkset and not use the 
eboni black ink.  Can someone point me in the right direction for doing 
this?  By the way, I do not know how to create a curve in photoshop or 
QTR, which may be the key to the solution.  If this would help me, can 
someone point me to a tutorial?  Thanks very much!
