Do you have the new clamps? They go all the way around the tubing and have a keyhole shapped hole in them. They do NOT have to be folded over. The old clamps where more of a clothespin device that you had to double over the tubing before you put the clamp on. All I can say is make sure you have clamped the tubing well before you disconnect it from the plunger and make sure the end of the tubing is well submerged in the ink before you remove the clamp.
