I think many of the companies buy back old stock when they release the new versions. Maybe just for that very reason. I dunno for sure if Adobe is one of them or not but I have heard of some having a buy back program. One of the smarter things (IMHO) is that Corel continues to sell old versions of their Corel Draw at a discount until they are all gone. This lets new users get their software (and hopefully like it enough to later upgrade) without spending the whole retail price. That's how I got my first version. I have since upgraded several times so they made out with me. Greg > gotcha, but I still wonder why I've found no firm selling the older > versions. The upgrade is $149 on Adobe's site, and new is $609. A > "buy now" for 6.0 is $414. So I would expect version 5.5 to be > selling somewhere near the "buy now" less $149 less some inconvenience > cost.
