Does anyone have a from-the-ground-up set of instructions for using MIS Associates' UT3D inks on an Epson 2200 with the PrintFix Pro profiling system? I find this sort of thing much more difficult to sort out than darkroom work... it's so disconnected from tangible, physical objects and processes that I have trouble keeping all the bits and pieces of information in my working memory. Paul Roark's descriptions of UT3D inks assume a level of understanding that I do not have at present, and he's such a determined experimenter that he's moved on to new projects before I've figured out what he was doing last year... Assume I want to create profiles for an Epson 2200 loaded with UT3D inks in the standard positions. Assume that I will be printing monochrome images, starting out with Gamma 2.2 embedded profiles (or something else, if it would help). I can run a paper through the PrintFix Pro workflow, printing, reading and creating a profile from the 225 patch target. (I do this successfully for color profiles.) Is there any advantage to including the extended gray target as well? Now what? I assume that I do not need anying further to "linearize" the profile. ??? Step by step, how do I go about creating profiles or Photoshop curves that will change only the color or tone of the image? My first attempt at a PrintFix Pro B&W profile resulted in a very cool image tone, and I would like to warm it up. Thanks. Myron
