Re: [Digital BW] MIS K4 inks for Epson R2400

2006-08-09 by Kevin

Thanks for replying Linda
I will most likely be using those MIS K4 inks in the future to save
money.

I'm still a bit fuzzy on profiles. Here are paper profiles for the
paper I will be using (Red River Aurora Art):
http://www.redrivercatalog.com/profiles/r2400profiles.htm
Wouldn't a paper profile like this be good enough for use with either
Epson or MIS inks? If not, then how does one use both a paper and ink
profile?

I'm really a "set it and forget it" type person (not so technical),
so these profiles and monitor calibration type stuff just tends to
confuse and bog me down. I just want to get acceptable results
without a lot of hassle. I'll be printing maybe 50% B&W, 50% color.

I have an Eye One display monitor calibration device. When I've used
it in the past I've simply calibrated using the "Easy" method.
Honestly, I can't tell that it even helps.

What do you think?

Regards,

Kevin
