Digital BW, The Print

As described in an earlier post (1160 disaster...) I was about to 
install my new CIS quad carts when disaster struck and my printer is 
inoperable with ink light on and paper & power lights flashing. 

I now have the 2 CIS carts, with the tubes attached, filled with 
inkset sitting and waiting. It's goiung to be sometime for the 
printer to be shipped, repaired and returned to me before I can 
install the carts

I dont want to risk the carts so what is the best thing to do with 
them ? 
Leave them ?
Tape/seal the tube ends?
Try & syphon the ink back into the bottles and wash the carts? 
Or what do you suggest ? 
They've already been standing for 2 days while I tried to sort the 
printer out.
