I have an Epson 10000 that I will be converting for B&W use. I am working now on a continuous feed system so I will have the choice of using any ink. My intention is to focus on pure carbon ink on Hahnemuhle Photorag as well as the new Crane Silver Rag. I don't feel the need to go Sepia but I do want to go more neutral. I have been looking at the MIS UT2 solution which uses Black (photo or matte) and 2 carbon shades and two blue-toned shades. In the sixth (yellow) position I am looking at another dilution of carbon to give me 4 dilutions of carbon (assuming the black is considered a shade of carbon) along with the two blue toners. My question is whether I can use the matte black with these two papers and whether anyone has other suggestions as to combinations of inks for this 6 colour printer that will give a suitable range from carbon to neutral. I do have ONYX Production house as well as the Eye-One/Profilemaker package and I am willing to purchase any other suitable RIP.
