Hello, Yes, I'm going to say it Get A Mac. Either a dual processor G5 or the new G5's with the dual core Intel processor and load it up with ram. Forget virtural memory PhotoShop works best with real ram. install 2 gigs of ram and you'll be fine. If money a issue look for a refurbished system from Apple or a good used pre G5/ G4 system with dual processors. The new iMac G5's with the Intel processor is a good system. I have some friends who are happy with the new mini Macs with 1gig of ram. They're great unless you have to do some really heavy duty image processing then the G5 is the way to. Of course the Mac will cost you but you can still open all your PC files on the Mac. Which ever way you go Mac/PC add a couple of fast external 7200/10,000 rpm USB2 hard drives in the 160-300 gb range and all the ram you can afford.
