Pantone, as an ink manufacturer, never dominated Offset printing. They provide the 
Pantone matching system which is a series of books and products that standardize color 
matching. It was this system that they are dominant, even today. Their inks were made by 
an established ink company and rebranded with their labels. Sorry.
