Hi Ophelia; You haven't found any references to this kind of problem in part because the forum is about B&W printing (you're trying to do B&W but with color inks, and dyes at that) and in part because nobody uses Canons on this forum for the B&W. That's mostly because the Epson printers were always better at pushing pigments through the heads, so the whole B&W 3rd party ink thing has grown up around Epsons. Judging from your description however, I'd say the canned profile that came with the printer is optimized for the lower res setings, and at HQ it doesn't work as well. That's not unusual, though sometimes you get several canned profiles that cover all settings reasonably well. Try going to the Canon website and checking for a newer driver, if there is one maybe it'll have more profiles with it. Also, do a Yahoo groups search for canon printers-there is a dedicated Canon group that might be more helpful Steve Karafyllakis --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "FaeryOphelia" <faeryophelia@b...> wrote: > > Hi everyone, > I'm so impressed by the massive amount of knowledge that seems to be > present in this group that I'm worried I might be about to lower the > tone! > > Anyhow, I use a Canon ip5000 to print black and white images > predominantly only hammered texture greeting cards, however the > output on the high quality setting is oddly green/yellow tinted. > This only happens on high quality, oddly it's perfect on standard and > grayscale settings.
