Re: Sony Artisan monitor, anyone

2006-01-22 by Martin Paul

Hi Sarah,
I know its confusing,> I hope I did not mislead. I Typed in haste. I
just wanted to see if your Artisan profile
that is built by the calibrator is the one being used by Photoshop to
display your images. You should stick to
Pro photo RGB if thats what's been working for you; its just that in
that same pull down menu at the very top happens to be the place
that Photoshop tells you what monitor profile it is using.
It needs to match the one shown in the calibration software. Another
place to check and I have seen this happen is open the monitor's control
panel in system preferences, and click on color. You should see a
list of available profiles and make sure that the one built by the
calibrator is selected.
Sometimes it defaults to something else.
THis will make a big difference in how the screen displays images.
