I have been using the cfs system with photo black for over 1 1/2 and all was well till I decided to switch to the matte black ink. I ordered just the cfs portion of the matte blk ink set. I got a clear ink cartrridge loaded with ebony, cfs tube and a bottle of ebony ink. When I installed the ink, the printer was still showing photo blk, after contacting MIS, it turned out that the chip was wrong and they sent me a replacement chip. When I replaced the chip, I was getting weird colors, after contacting MIS, the possibility of ink contamination came up, so I decided to change all the ink bottles with new bottles with new ink and let the print test pages for three weeks, enough of the ink was used that all the cartridges had fresh ink. I did my test again and to my surprise, the same results. Weird colors. I get a lot of burned/over exposed colors on shadow areas especially on skip tone. I contacted MIS again, and they mention contamination again, after I explained all of what I did and may be the driver is holding the old settings, so un install the driver and re install a new one (which I did and no help). I finally asked them to send me a new chip and is sitting on my desk. The chip says regular on it and I think I need the cfs chip, so another call to MIS next week… Thanks for reading, now my question: could this be the cartridge that's bad, MIS was insisting that it is not. One final note, I put in the old photo blk and all is fine!! I am at loss and would appreciate and all help ------------------------------------- regards, mehrdad
