Digital BW, The Print

You must have different ink than what I have.  I've posted here measurements
of both the K and LK ink and they are far from neutral - they're very cold,
about as cold as I would ever go cooling a warm carbon ink set with LM and
LC.  You're getting an L* of 3.7?  I have measured scales of ink load and
never found density to exceed 2.0.  The L* 8.4 I measured below is the best
I've seen but it's not workable.  I'm surprised you are getting such
different results.  IJC/OPM and QTR use the same driver at their core and I
would not have thought there'd be that much difference simply from the 7600
vs the 2100 - at least not at dMax.

I think I have a reasonably close to neutral QTR curve now.  It required a
toner curve for adding LM and a different one for adding Y.  A painful
exercise.  I'll post the results when I'm finished.

These inks will be problematic for anyone looking to use them conventionally
with the Epson driver (ie for colour).  The ink limits in there are going to
cause problems for these inks.  My GG2.2 step wedge on HPR has now had a
couple of days of drying.  Here are the 85, 90, 95 and 100 steps:

14.3 1.1 0.6
9.9 1.8 0.3
8.4 1.7 -0.5
9.6 0.8 -0.8

Note the inversion that occurs due to excess ink limits.  I no longer have
the same printout on EAM but the results will have been much worse.  If
these inks pass the longevity test then a RIP will definitely need to be
considered.  These are cheap for B&W but less so for colour.
