But you can print a profiling target at a given set of settings, and build a color profile for that setup, then use that profile to softproof those settings. As long as you could repeat the settings, the proof profile would remain valid. There would probably be some editing required to get that profile to be close enough. The ColorVision profiling engine has always done a surperior job of building preview profiles for B&W systems, so I assume it would be a good choice here as well.
