    I've been lurking for a month or so, getting set up with an R220 and 
MIS inks
for hextone
and BO output from my scanned B&W negatives, and have been having a 
grand time

I'm now at the point where I'm fine-tuning my process and am looking 
for a paper
stock to
become my standard paper.  I've tried many different kinds, and like 
aspects of
many of
them, but haven't found a go-to paper yet.  Note that I haven't tried 
any glossy
(or lustre
or semi-matte) papers yet (waiting for my first cart of Eboni to run 
out, but I
generally
prefer matte for my "hero" prints).  I know this will be a continuing 
saga of
trial and error
(not to mention my changing tastes), but I'm looking for suggestions 
based on
some
criteria I've observed in other papers:

  - Papers like HPR and Red River Dourian Art have a bit too much 
texture for me,
but I love
e.g. Dourian's balance of warmth, brightness, ink color and, 
especially, its
dmax.  The
R220 doesn't want to eat the HPR in 308gsm weight and needs a bit of 
"help" to
get it to
take (and the stiff curl at the end of the page can result in uneven 
printing --
only visible
in BO so far).  I've had the same weight/thickness issue with Moab 
Entrada BW (@

300gsm).

  - PA205 (or PremierArt Matte Scrapbook for Epson which I've been 
using) is a
beautiful
paper, but the base is too warm for me and the weight (@ 205) and dmax 
too low.

  - EEM is great but not archival.  Also perhaps a little too 
bright/cool and not
heavy
enough to feel like a "real" print in the hand.  The smoothness is just 
about
right though.

So, are there papers out there that I could/should try that may combine 
the
elements
above: ~230-280 gsm weight, smooth texture a la EEM and good balance of 
warmth,
brightness and dmax such as in HPR and RR Dourian Art?  Thanks again
