Digital BW, The Print

Some aren't going transition for a while, if ever, because current
concepts should be retired within in a year or two. After all, who
wants to get stuck with $10,000 worth of antiquated EOS or Nikon
digital SLR concept?

One reported factor should be the new concave chip from Kodak et
al...higher-than-10MP resolution, designed specifically to facilitate
much smaller cameras and lenses: allegedly Leica's perpetually-pending
digital M, which would involve Panasonic.
 
Another is Konica/Minolta/Sony's alliance, which is about to produce a
much higher resolution, image stabalized digital SLR as well.

Why "go digital" just because it's available? If one's happy with
one's film strategy, why change? Perhaps one would move instead to a
larger or smaller film format, just for the aesthetics. Or perhaps one
would rather move from B&W prints to B&W videos? :-)
