I missed the original question, but here is a short bit of info about my experiments with quad-black and Gimp: I played a bit with WinGIMP, mostly to establish wether there was a viable open source solution for quad-black. I used an Epson 1270 (stand-in for my 1280), and Paul Roark's curves, rather than the EZ system. I converted by hand some of the curves to the GIMP curves. (I learned today that there is a Perl script that should do the same thing) Things seem to have worked fine. From my recollection, at least WinGIMP prints to the epson driver, so that was not a problem. I don't know if that's true of MacGIMP. If you are interested in the curves, or a link to the source of the Perl script, let me know. -matt > I would expect, offhand, that the Gimp will only talk to the Gimp-print > drivers directly, rather than using the OS X print architecture, and > thus can't print because it can't talk to the real Epson driver. > > -Adam > > > > > Richard Nagle wrote: > > Judging by the lack of the response, regarding my ³help² question, > > I would gather, that no-one is using Gimp and Mac and C86 printer, > > here on the group. > > > > -Rick > > > > > > > > > > Please visit the Group Homepage to check the Files, and other resources > > as they are often being updated. > > > > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint > > > > If you wish to receive no emails or just a daily digest, or you wish to > > unsubscribe, please edit your Membership preferences by visiting this > > same page. > > > > Please follow these basic guidelines: > > - As threads develop, trim off excess portions of earlier messages to > > keep them short. > > - Good manners are required at all time.
