Digital BW, The Print

Try Edit/Preferences/General and then change the number of History 
States.  Another suggestion is to do whatever you are doing on a 
layer so that if it doesn't work out, just trash the layer and start 
over.  You might possibly have run into a memory problem.  Good luck.
