I would use the C84 til I needed another printer. I don't think there 
would be enough difference to warrant purchasing a new printer.

"2) Can I use the EZ ink carts I purchased for the C84 in the C86?"

Yes, they use the same carts. Get the re-fillable clear ones, if you 
are going to order some new carts.

They are REAL easy to fill.
