Upgrade to Mac OS X v10.3.   I had the same problem with my 7600, QTR and OS 
X v10.2.8.   Upgrading the OS fixed it.   The upgrade contains substantial 
rewriting of the printing code, and fixes the problem.   You should also upgrade 
QTR to v2.1.   Good luck.
