Truth is, I do nothing.  Whether a printer needs any special attention seems
to depend on how well the individual printer capping seals the system and
probably other factors, like humidity.  Usually my printers do fine for
weeks.  I've heard of people putting the printer in a bag (or covered
snuggly) with a damp sponge of source of humidity inside the bag.  Of
course, one could also pull the pigment carts and put in carts of flushing
fluid (which is usually just clear base), but that seems too expensive for
just a matter of weeks.

Another thought, however, is that the base formula I came up with for the UC
inkset (4 parts water to 3 parts glycerin) might make a good cleaning fluid
and a good one to soak the pad with before leaving.  Since it lacks pigs and
binder, there is really no residue if it does dry.  Glycerin is used for its
moisturizing and dispersal properties.  So, it might be a good thing to wash
the parking pad with before leaving.  That would not only leave it soaking,
but it would also get the sources of residue that stick to the head off the
pad.

I suggest the 2200 and UT7.

I'm going to load some UT2 into the 2000P today to see what happens, but I'm
probably through with desktop hextone printers.  (And my 7500 uses UT1, so
I'm probably about at the end of the line with respect to UT2 - Time for me
to move on.)
