It's probably a dirty head, check your printer where the heads park when not in use, 
see if there is a pad or wiper that cleans off the head, when it parks.  If there is, then 
see if it has a build up of ink on the pad or wiper, if there is, then either see if you 
can clean or replace the pad or wiper.  Otherwise try a cleaning cycle, and see if 
that helps.  If it's a HP or Lexmark printer, then try a new cartridge.
