OK on the 1280..You "CAN" use pre-filled carts( and maybe that's all you can use an a machine you have "access" to), however, your long-run savings could be 10-fold via the CIS route..I don't know if you have or have tried a CIS in your experience with color, but the same holds true..I have two 1160 Epson 4-color machines....BOTH with CIS adaptors...One dedicated to Mediastreet Generations Color, and one to MIS Sepia VM inks( Neutral to full Sepia), and yes, in two years of heavy printing, I've had a few "clogs", none of which I have not been able to work through in short order..The only PROBLEM I have is productivity..too much of it..I'm running out of space for storage, mounting , matting and framing!
