That is a spectacularly pessimistic view of the situation. You're only affected by the issue if you shoot more wide angle than telephoto. And if you are affected, then we're talking about one new lens, not a whole new outfit! Every other lens you own will still work, it just has a smaller field of view than when used with 35mm.
